Obverse
The obverse of these coins features the left-hand side profile portrait of President John F. Kennedy. The word Liberty is above his head, while the mintage year is below him. In God We Trust is also present. The obverse features a smooth background and no other markings.
Reverse
The reverse of this coin features a modified U.S. Presidential seal. The heraldic eagle is at the center, clutching an olive branch in one talon and arrows in the other. The eagle holds a banner in its beak that reads E Pluribus Unum. Coins may or may not include a mint mark.
History
President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas in November of 1963. He was honored on the obverse of this coin the following year. The Kennedy Half Dollar has been minted from 1964 to the present day. The first year of issue in 1964 had the most collectability value, however, and remains a coin of great attraction for investors and collectors.
