Obverse
Liberty is featured in the obverse design of the Pre-33 Saint-Gaudens Gold Double Eagle Coin. This image shows Liberty in front-facing relief as she walks carrying an olive branch and a torch. This design was created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
Reverse
An American bald eagle is featured in the reverse field of Pre-33 $20 Saint Gaudens Double Eagle Coins. This design was also created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens and captures an eagle in left-profile relief gliding over the sun on the edge of the field.
History
This listing offers the potential for coins from 1924, 1927, or 1928. Most of these dates saw little circulation in the US, with most shipped over to Europe. While several specimens returned following World War II, most were improperly stored or handled and came back in less than Mint State condition. In fact, 30% of the 1924 mintage remains in Mint State condition, with just 10% each of the 1927 and 1928 mintages in Mint State conditions.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
