Germania Mint

The Germania Mint was established in 2018, but its history goes back to 1986 when Apolinary Kurowski founded a numismatic store in Poland. That store has now evolved into one of the most well-known private mints in the world that creates high-purity gold, silver, and copper rounds and bars. Among their most popular silver bar offerings are the following:

  • Cast Silver Bars: The Germania Mint specializes in cast bars. These bars have the identifying marks of the bar on the obverse and a blank reverse. Bars are made from .9999 pure silver and are available in several sizes from 1 oz to 1 kilogram. Each reverse field also has a hologram sticker that contains authentication details for the bar.
  • Rune Cast Silver Bars: The Germania Mint also has a unique series of cast silver bars called the Rune series which displays letters of the runic alphabet on silver bars. These bars have a limited mintage of 2,500 per bar and even have a UV lighting effect on the reverse which allows the letter to glow red when exposed to a UV flashlight.

Scottsdale Mint

The Scottsdale Mint was established in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2008. Despite being a newer name in the industry, they’ve quickly grown to become one of the most recognizable brands in the precious metals world. The private mint specializes in creating coinage for foreign governments. However, they also create their own unique silver bars and rounds. Some popular silver bar options are the following:

  • Vortex Bar: Available in a 1 oz size, this minted ingot features the Scottsdale Mint Lion on the obverse with a unique vortex background. Bars arrive in a CoinZip bag, or tubes of 20 for larger orders.
  • Stacker: Part of the Scottsdale Stacker Series, this minted ingot features the well-known Scottsdale Mint Lion on the obverse with an intriguing swirl pattern on the reverse. Each bar bears a unique serial number on the reverse.
  • Chunky Bar: This cast bar is available in a 10 oz size and has a purity of .999 pure silver. Like most of their products, the Scottsdale Mint Lion is on the obverse while the reverse is left intentionally blank. Silver bars will arrive in a protective plastic bag.

SilverTowne

SilverTowne opened as a small coin shop in Indiana, in 1949. The company started as a husband-and-wife team that has since expanded to one of the top private mints in America. They’ve even offered custom mint options since 1983. The mint is known for its own unique designs, as well as recreating popular coin images on their bars and rounds. Some popular options include the following:

  • Prospector Bar: This series of minted ingots showcases the well-known image of a prospector and his mule in right-profile relief on the obverse. These bars are available in smaller sizes such as 1 oz, 5 oz, and 10 oz, and have a purity of .999 pure silver.
